With his own skilled hands, Nicola prepares and suggests, serving both Florentines who are passionate about their culinary tradition and tourists looking for authentic flavours. We’re in Florence, after all, the city of food lovers. And so, at Nicola’s trippaio, every meal focuses on taste: beef cheek pot roast and stew, lampredotto all’uccelletto with beans, Florentine tripe, lampredotto with leeks, or zimino with spinach.
Generous and appetising dishes that you can taste on the spot, sitting comfortably at one of the little tables.
Also enticing market-goers is the large piece of porchetta displayed on the counter, ready to be cut and served in a sandwich. And last but not least are two of Nicola’s inventions: the Panzedotto, a panzerotto made with fried dough stuffed with lampredotto; and the savoury lampredotto meatballs. As we say in Florence: they’re to die for!
