s
Massimo represents the third generation of the Tarchiani greengrocers by choice! He grew up both personally and professionally in the Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio, starting at just fourteen years old when he worked his first summer at the family stall. He worked with “Mamma Lucia known as La Rossa”, then with his brother Emiliano, and for many years now with Roberta, his companion in life and work!
SHORT SUPPLY CHAIN, SEASONAL PRODUCTS, AND QUALITY
Over the years Massimo and Roberta have always favoured the sale of seasonal produce, according to the calender, and of zero-kilometre, locally grown products! Leaving space, however, for imported products, they always try to offer high quality fruit at prices that everyone can afford.
At their stall you’ll find many varieties of apples and pears, grapes, persimmons, lemons, grapefruits, tangerines, clementines, and oranges (also those tiny juicy oranges)! Plus ginger, avocados, kiwis, pomegranates, tomatoes (large, small, sweet, and flavourful), many varieties of peaches and plums, cherries, and sweet strawberries! They also sell genuine and locally produced honey, artisan jams, eggs with “guaranteed” dark yolks, and excellent peeled tomatoes. Everyday Roberta prepares the ingredients for fresh minestrone, already cut and ready to cook!
